As Deweb said, not necessarily what I heard in my imagination while reading the books, but inspiration does not require blind mimicry.
You guys are your own thing, allowing your Muse to work through even your reading. I loved the sound clips.
I wish I could hear you live, but Alaska is a little ways from your Gig list.

Something far heavier, with a taste of smog and brick dust in it. Not grunge, not metal, but something that caught up the best of both-becoming somehow more.
I know that description remains a trifle nebulous, but then the music that rattled through my brain was not recordable.
