Not a bad list.I've read a few of them. A number of the rest are pretty obscure, or out of print
My Picks:
Mikhail Bulgakov -- The Master & Margarita (fairly impenetrable but enjoyable political fantasy...mainly an anti Stalinist satire... )
Philip K. Dick -- A Scanner Darkly (Typical Dick )
M. John Harrison -- Viriconium Nights William Morris -- News From Nowhere ( He does a nice line in wallpaper too...obscure gag )
Mervyn Peake -- The Gormenghast Trilogy (still the best)
Jonathan Swift -- Gulliver's Travels (Truly strange social satire...forget the dodgy Lilliput cartoon etc )
H.G. Wells -- The Island of Dr Moreau ( His best work...take me to the house of pain etc )
